Jf started skiing at 9 years old in Bromont, Quebec, Canada. The first time he went up a chairlift, he saw the Bromont ski school director skiing and at that particular moment, he decided he wanted to make a career in skiing. “I remember my first day on skis, I started skiing at 9am and when my father came to pick me up at 7 pm I did not want to leave… My father bought a pair of skis for me the next day and I think I slept with my skis for a month. I was always thinking about skiing… and I am still like that. I love the sport.” Jf is always the first on the slopes and the last one back from the mountain at the end of the day. He is training hard every day.

At 20 years old, Jf succeed at CSIA level 4. He then decided to go to Méribel, France to teach over there for two seasons. “When I first got there, they made me work in daycare for 2 months… It was just before Christmas and I had to wear a Santa Claus outfit for my first week at work… It was good for the ego to start at the bottom of the ladder again.” In 2001, Jf passed the French National full cert diploma and eventually worked as a “real” ski instructor for Meribel ESF.

When Jf came back to Canada in 2002, he started to work full time on courses for CSIA and worked his way up to become a CSIA level 4 examiner and a level 3 Coach from Canadian Ski Coaches Federation. He was chosen to represent Canada at the 2007 Interski Congress in Yong Pyong, Korea, the 2011 Interski in St-Anton, Austria and in Pamporovo, Bulgaria for the 2019 Interski. In 2015, Jf has been chosen to work as an assistant coach in the development process of CSIA High Performance Team.

He is currently running Mont-Sainte-Anne Telus WinterSports School in Quebec, Canada and he his on the slopes every day, training instructors to get better. Jf is also managing the Rookies program in Mont-Sainte-Anne and makes sure the training product is the best you can get.

When Jf is not skiing on snow, he is waterskiing, windsurfing, biking or hiking the mountain, thinking of new ways to ski better…
